The Strawberry Park Resort sits on a wooded 7-acre hillside between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, in the heart of the Cameron Highlands. Recognizable by its neo-Tudor architecture, the property features 146 rooms spread across 7 blocks and has cultivated a mountain retreat atmosphere since the mid-1980s, at over 1,800 meters altitude.
Why stay here
Established in the mid-1980s, Strawberry Park Resort ranks among the longest-established accommodations in the Cameron Highlands. Its neo-Tudor architecture, 7-acre footprint, and elevated hillside position set it apart from hotels clustered in town centers. The cool climate—typical of Malaysia's highlands—allows year-round use of open windows: neither air-conditioning nor fans are installed in rooms, and the blocks have no elevators. A deliberate choice that aligns with the spirit of the place.
Atmosphere and architecture
The entire complex embraces the English cottage aesthetic transplanted to altitude: half-timbered gables, steeply pitched roofs, wood-paneled interiors. The common areas—lobby, lounges, restaurants—share this neo-Tudor vocabulary with a few stone fireplaces. Rooms adopt a more contemporary register, with polished wooden floors, teak furnishings, and each features a private balcony overlooking gardens, valley, or mountains depending on the category.
Rooms and suites
The resort offers six accommodation categories, each equipped with LCD television, safe, hair dryer, coffee and tea maker, and Wi-Fi connection.

Dining, spa and activities
Five dining outlets punctuate the day:
- Brasserie '85 — at lobby level, open all day, local and Western cuisine, daily international buffet.
- Tudor Grill — on the mezzanine, fine dining with chef's specialties.
- Tudor Lounge — at the same level, musical bar in the evening.
- The Lantern Chinese Restaurant — on the lower ground floor, woks and hotpot.
- Coffee Bar & Lounge — coffee break by the fire in the lobby.
The Wild Orchidaceae Spa, inspired by Balinese traditions, offers acupressure, massage, and essential oil treatments. The indoor swimming pool, temperature-controlled, is open 9am to 6pm. Sports enthusiasts have access to a tennis court, pickleball court, fitness room, and table tennis. For families, a Kids Corner and outdoor play area round out the offerings.
Practical amenities: free parking, self-service laundry, luggage storage, laundry service, and tour desk to arrange excursions and transfers.
Location
The resort occupies its own hillside between Tanah Rata and Brinchang, set apart from both town centers. The Cameron Highlands golf course is a 5-minute drive away, the weekend night market about 10 minutes, the butterfly farm roughly 20 minutes, and the Sungai Palas tea plantation approximately 45 minutes away.
When to visit
The Cameron Highlands enjoy a cool climate year-round, with average temperatures between 15 and 25 °C. The driest season runs roughly January to March and June to August: ideal conditions for plantation hikes and farm visits. November and December are more humid, though the coolness remains pleasant. Pack a fleece or light jacket for evenings, which are cooler than in the lowlands.
Nearby
Should you extend your Malaysia itinerary, several properties share the same nature escape or heritage logic: the Belum Rainforest Resort in the primary forest of Royal Belum, the Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat near Ipoh for hot springs, or the Laban Rata Resthouse for ascending Mount Kinabalu. For colonial heritage, the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in George Town remains a landmark.
